Guest: Beautiful Place

All I can do is just confirm what previous people have written down here. The Resort is nothing but awesome! And the whole team is very obliging, too. The fact that we arrived after sunset made the experience to see the whole place the next morning even more spectacular. And as we were watching the sunset the next day we did not even had to ask for a drink as the waiter brought the bear we ordered last time without saying. Wow!

Vibeke Falkenberg: MS

Hi, I want to say that I have enjoyed my stay at the resort very much and that I highly recommend it to others. The couple managing the place and the local staff are very friendly and helpfull!! I don't have a car and in this aspect it is also a great place. it is easy to reach by public transport and the resort organize a lot of great trips where they organize the transport! Don't miss the village on stilts or visting the local mangrove!

Rod Chilton: Hi Again

Hi Again I stayed at your lovely Resort a number of years ago now and it was the best time I had in Ghana. I am thinking of coming back towars the end of january or early February. Is there a problem with lack of accomodation at that time of year? Hope to hear from you soon.
Best wishes, Rod Chilton

Johann Wachs: A perfect mix of authenticity and comfort

Ah - what a nice place to stay, definitely my favorite place while I was in Ghana. You get all the comforts 'adult travelers' (i.e. one or two steps beyond backpacking) expect (nice bathrooms, comfortable beds, spacious, well-designed rooms with a local flair) with a totally authentic atmosphere. Importantly, the food is really good, the atmosphere in the palapa-like restaurant very comfy. The grounds are wonderful, a piece of kjungle right on a deserted beach where you can take long walks with hardly another person there. The location is very convenient if you are looking at the sensational slave fortresses on the Ghanaian coast - many of them are within a reasonable drive. The resort even has its very own ruined fortress (apparently very ruined) on the grounds up a hill!) The owners are a very friendly and welcoming Austrian family - one wishes them continued success, it is such a beautiful, unspoilt piece of earth they aretending for us ;)

Nana: Recent Guest

Ankobra Beach Resort is the best experience I've had in Ghana so far! Secluded and serene, it is nested in a beautiful tropical beach and nature reserve. The natural environment is accented by the refreshing crash of ocean waves that gently push a calming sea breeze throughout the compound. The bungalows patterned after the unique mud house architecture of northern Ghana is designed with minimalist class, tasteful African decor, and European sensibility—a comfortable atmosphere with quality amenities. I stayed in the Category 1 room and especially enjoyed reading on the stone bench connected to the external facade of my bungalow. I would quietly nod, smile or wave at the occasional passerby as he or she walked the nature path in front of me. From the bench, I could clearly hear and see the ocean and take in the unpolluted air. Tropical plants and flowers of all sizes surrounded me. Statuesque palm trees stood majestic and shaded the grounds. When I entered my bungalow for the first time, I found lying on the table a useful informational leaflet about the resort. The leaflet prudently cautioned the presence of snakes and other wildlife in the natural habitat. That information proved to be priceless when I later chanced upon a baby snake on the beach. The information I received beforehand prevented any cause for alarm, and the encounter was harmless. I was pleasantly surprised at the relative lack of pestering insects in such a natural environment. While mosquito nets are available, I did not need to use mine. With my screened window open to usher in the sea breeze, I slept peacefully without my mosquito net and never spotted an insect in my room. The culinary experience was perhaps the most pleasant surprise of my stay! I enjoyed eggs made sunny side up to perfection with a side of bacon, banku with the freshest fish hot from the grill, a delicious feast of meaty lobster that could feed two people for the price of one, and a healthy servin
