If you fly KLM, LH, Alitalia or Emirates, you will most likely arrrive in the evening or afternoon in Accra.
Nocturnal trips in the local road conditions should be rather avoided. Enjoy their first arrival in one of our selected partner hotels, they will pick you up free of charge from the airport.
We personally prefer the El Orr, a very nice and new hotel with much charm and low prices (which offers doubles between 30 - 55 €). It is located approximately 25 minutes drive from the airport Accra away.

An alternative is the Lavender Lodge, it is only 4 minutes away from the airport, has a small pol, it is very clean hotel with good service. Double rooms around 100 USD. www.lavenderlodge-ghana.com
You should leave Accra as early as you can to avoid the terrible traffic (5:30 a. m.). There are STC or ADB busses going to Takoradi every hour. ADB seems to be the much better bus, with AC, clean and in best condition. Cost only 7-9 GHC (4 €). From Accra to Takoradi takes around three hours and from Takoradi where you can take a Tro Tro (3 GHC or Taxi(30 GHC) to Ankobra it takes not more than 50 min.
Obviously, you can also apply for the direct route from Accra Beach after Ankobra hire a taxi, here they must deal with about 75 € (150 GHC) expected.
Arrived at the resort, you can still enjoy half a day at the beach, sea and sun, if you have left Accra early enough.
